We’re looking for an Electrical Service Engineer to join a leading pump specialist’s field service team. You’ll install, service and commission pumping equipment, with potential to work on associated control panels. It’s a varied role for someone who enjoys solving problems on site and seeing equipment through to successful operation.

The company

Our client designs, manufactures, supplies and services pumping systems used across the UK. Its engineers are backed by an established technical team, with training available and opportunities to progress as the business grows. A significant number of employees have built long careers there.

What you’ll be doing

As an Electrical Service Engineer, you’ll:

  • Carry out electrical installation, testing and commissioning of pumping equipment.
  • Support mechanical engineers during pump installations and commissioning.
  • Service equipment, diagnose faults and attend breakdowns when required.
  • Work on motors and potentially control panels and associated systems.
  • Complete site reports and communicate findings clearly to customers.
  • Travel across your allocated patch, with occasional stays away where projects require them.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an Electrical Service Engineer with a solid electrical background and the confidence to manage your work on customer sites. Experience with pumps, motors or industrial maintenance would be particularly useful.

The brief calls for an electrical qualification covering the 17th or 18th Edition and a City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in inspection and testing. Confined Space, First Aid and CSCS training would be useful additions.

What’s on offer

  • Up to £38,000–£40,000 basic salary
  • Potential earnings of around £55,000 with overtime, depending on hours worked

  • Annual business performance bonus, subject to company performance
  • Pension, with an enhanced arrangement after three years’ service
  • Private healthcare, critical illness and death in service cover after qualifying periods
  • Training and opportunities to apply for roles internally
  • Potential to work contracted hours over four days, subject to workload and manager approval
