Senior Quantity Surveyor – Water, Utilities & Civils

Location: Greater Manchester, with projects across the North West
Salary: Up to £80,000, plus car or car allowance

We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for water, multi-utility and civil engineering projects across the North West. You’ll join a growing contractor with a strong pipeline of work and the opportunity to play a key role in its next stage of growth.

Our client is an established North West infrastructure business delivering essential work across water, utilities and civil engineering. With major schemes underway and continued investment in its teams, it offers the chance to build a long-term career close to home.

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll:

• Lead commercial management across one major project or several smaller schemes.
• Prepare cost and value reports, forecasts and applications for payment.
• Procure and manage subcontract packages through to final account.
• Manage change control, valuations, contract notices and commercial risk.
• Work closely with project teams to protect margins and keep delivery on track.
• Build strong client and supply chain relationships.
• Support and mentor junior commercial colleagues.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong civil engineering, water or utilities background. You’ll be confident managing the full commercial lifecycle, negotiating with subcontractors and clients, and producing accurate forecasts.

Experience with NEC contracts would be particularly useful. You’ll also bring the judgement to spot risks early and the communication skills to work closely with operational teams.
