Senior Project Manager – Major Infrastructure

Location: Exeter / South West, with travel to project sites
Salary: £80,000–£88,400, plus car allowance
Hours: 40 per week

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead a major project within a growing South West Water programme. You’ll take responsibility for a multidisciplinary team and guide delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.

What you’ll be doing

As Senior Project Manager, you’ll:

• Lead the safe delivery of a major water or wastewater infrastructure project.
• Take responsibility for programme, budget, quality, risk and commercial performance.
• Direct and develop a multidisciplinary team and its supply chain partners.
• Build strong relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
• Resolve delivery challenges and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Oversee commissioning, handover and successful project completion.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be an experienced Senior Project Manager who has led £20 million-plus infrastructure or civil engineering projects for a main contractor. You’ll bring strong commercial judgement, confident client management and the ability to lead large teams through complex delivery.

Water sector experience is welcome but isn’t essential. If your background is in major civil engineering or infrastructure, you’ll be supported in applying that experience to the water sector.

You’ll need SMSTS, an appropriate CSCS card and an HNC or equivalent construction qualification. Professional membership, such as CIOB, would be an advantage.
