Project Manager – Multi Utilities
Location: Greater Manchester, with projects across the North West
Salary: Up to £65,000 plus car allowance
Type: Permanent, full time
We’re recruiting a Project Manager – Multi Utilities to lead utility schemes from design handover through to commissioning and final connections. You’ll take ownership of delivery, people and commercial performance while keeping developers and site teams informed at every stage.

Our client is an established civil engineering and utilities contractor with a growing pipeline of work across the North West. Its multi utility team delivers the infrastructure needed to connect new developments, making this an opportunity to manage varied schemes within a business investing in its people and future growth.
What you’ll be doing
As Project Manager – Multi Utilities, you’ll coordinate operatives, subcontractors, designers and commercial colleagues to deliver safe, efficient and profitable projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning schemes from design handover and pre-start through to mains installation, commissioning and plot connections.
- Coordinating streetworks notices, permits, site visits and programme updates.
- Managing safety, RAMS, quality inspections and environmental standards.
- Keeping drawings, as-laid records and completion documentation accurate.
- Monitoring costs, plant, materials and project performance with the commercial team.
- Building strong relationships with developers and resolving issues before they delay delivery.
- Leading and developing the teams working across your schemes.
What we’re looking for
You’ll bring substantial multi utility experience and a track record of leading site teams. You’ll understand the practical detail of utility installation as well as the planning, client communication and cost control needed to manage schemes from start to finish.
The brief calls for SMSTS, NRSWA Streetworks Supervisor, relevant EUSR qualifications, three-day First Aid training and a full UK driving licence. You’ll also need to be confident managing works in the highway and coordinating several moving parts at once.
A strong Project Manager – Multi Utilities will spot problems early, communicate clearly and take responsibility for the result.
