Testing & Inspection Electrician – Water & Wastewater
Location: Walsall / Midlands, with occasional travel and stays away
Salary: Up to £45,000
Hours: 38 hours per week, plus overtime
We’re looking for a Testing & Inspection Electrician to join a specialist water engineering team. You’ll still carry out electrical work, but the majority of your role will focus on inspecting, testing and reporting on installations across water and wastewater sites.

What you’ll be doing
As a Testing & Inspection Electrician, you’ll:
- Inspect and test industrial electrical installations and equipment.
- Complete initial verification and condition reporting.
- Identify defects, document findings and recommend remedial work.
- Carry out electrical repairs, installation and maintenance where needed.
- Work on pumping plant, control panels, motor starters and associated systems.
- Produce accurate certificates, test results and handover records.
What we’re looking for
You’ll be a fully qualified Testing & Inspection Electrician with an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, the 18th Edition and City & Guilds 2391 or an equivalent Inspection and Testing qualification. You’ll have strong practical testing experience, sound judgement when assessing defects and the ability to produce clear, accurate reports.
Experience in water, wastewater or other industrial environments would be valuable. You’ll also need a full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel or stay away when projects require it.
