Type: Permanent, full time

We’re recruiting a Project Manager – Highways to lead civil engineering and highways schemes across the North West. You’ll take responsibility for safe delivery, programme, commercial performance and the people needed to get each project over the line.

The company

Our client is an established, growing civil engineering and utilities contractor delivering infrastructure projects across the region. You’ll join a business with a strong pipeline of work, experienced delivery teams and opportunities to develop as its project portfolio grows.

What you’ll be doing

As Project Manager – Highways, you’ll lead schemes from planning and mobilisation through to final handover. Working with site teams, designers, subcontractors, commercial colleagues and clients, you’ll:

  • Plan works and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
  • Manage programme, cost, quality, safety and environmental performance.
  • Ensure RAMS, briefings, inspections and site records are completed properly.
  • Keep clients informed of progress, technical queries and changes.
  • Work with Quantity Surveyors on variations and accurate project records.
  • Resolve delivery issues and maintain a clear route to completion.
  • Lead and support the teams working across your schemes.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have proven experience managing highways or related civil engineering projects, with the confidence to lead site teams and make sound delivery decisions. You’ll understand NEC contracts, CDM requirements and the commercial impact of changes on site.

The brief calls for CSCS, SMSTS, three-day First Aid, a construction-related HNC, HND or degree, and a full UK driving licence. Temporary Works Supervisor and SEATS qualifications would be useful.

What’s on offer

  • Salary up to £80,000 plus car allowance.
  • 24 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell leave.
  • Private healthcare and a company-wide bonus scheme.
  • 6% company pension contribution.
  • Training and opportunities to progress within a growing contractor.

If you’re a Project Manager – Highways ready to take ownership of substantial North West schemes, apply today or contact J3A Recruitment for a confidential conversation about this Project Manager – Highways opportunity.
