Building Services Design Engineer – Aviation

Location: Stansted
Salary: Up to £60,000, plus company car or car allowance

We’re looking for a Building Services Design Engineer – Aviation to help deliver a major programme at Stansted Airport. With work including a new baggage line, car park extension and satellite rebuild, you’ll have the chance to contribute to complex schemes reaching approximately £80 million.

Our client is a major UK construction and infrastructure business delivering technically challenging work across essential sectors. You’ll join an established design and project team, with structured training and a clear route towards senior engineering or design management.

What you’ll be doing

As Building Services Design Engineer – Aviation, you’ll work with the Design Manager and wider delivery team to:

• Develop coordinated mechanical, electrical or public health designs.
• Produce and review drawings, calculations, specifications and equipment schedules.
• Carry out surveys and technical assessments.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural and specialist teams.
• Review subcontractor submissions and resolve design queries.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a Building Services Design Engineer – Aviation with experience in at least one building services discipline, such as electrical power and lighting, HVAC and ventilation, or public health systems. You’ll be able to produce practical, compliant designs and work effectively with other disciplines.

Experience on airport projects would be useful, but candidates from transport, infrastructure or other complex operational buildings are encouraged to apply.
