A not so good Recruiter

A not so good Recruiter

When we first moved into the office, I thought it would be a good idea to bring Obie along for the day and introduce him to life at J3A.

It turns out recruitment isn’t really his thing.

He showed very little interest in speaking to candidates, refused to make a single business development call and contributed absolutely nothing towards the monthly target. His main strengths appeared to be distracting John, investigating every corner of the office and waiting for the next opportunity to go outside.

Obie is a working cocker spaniel, so sitting quietly beneath a desk for eight hours was never realistically going to suit him. He would much rather be outdoors, running through fields and chasing ducks than listening to us talk about vacancies, interviews and start dates.

It was his first day in the J3A office—and, for the sake of everyone’s productivity, probably his last.

Still, he looked the part and remains an important member of the wider J3A team. His role is simply much better suited to boosting morale from home.
