Manufacturing investment lives or dies on practical skills
Investment figures are worth following, but I always want to know what the spend means on the factory floor. New equipment needs people to install it, maintain it, improve processes and keep production moving. The ONS business investment series is a useful way to track the wider picture without getting carried away by a single headline.
As J3A grows in manufacturing recruitment, I’m especially interested in engineers and managers who can show tangible improvements: downtime reduced, a line made safer, an installation delivered or a team developed.
A good hiring conversation starts with the work that needs doing. If the advert only asks for a long list of buzzwords, you can easily miss the person who has solved your actual problem.
