Type: Permanent, full time
We’re recruiting a Site Engineer to help deliver water and wastewater projects across the Thames Water region. You’ll work on schemes ranging from capital maintenance to complex upgrades at operational treatment works, with a mix of civil, mechanical, electrical and ICA activity on site.
The company
Our client is a Tier 1 UK contractor delivering major building and infrastructure projects. Its water team is working on a substantial programme across the Thames region, giving engineers the chance to develop their experience within established project teams and on varied, technically demanding sites.
What you’ll be doing
As a Site Engineer, you’ll take responsibility for the technical accuracy of site works, working closely with project managers, designers, subcontractors and the client team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting out and surveying works against drawings and specifications.
- Checking construction quality and maintaining inspection and test records.
- Coordinating technical information with designers and site teams.
- Recording progress, completed works and as-built information.
- Supporting planning and commercial teams with accurate site records.
- Helping deliver work safely within live water and wastewater environments.
- Supporting graduate or trainee engineers where appropriate.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have Site Engineer experience in civil engineering or infrastructure, ideally with a principal contractor. You’ll be confident with setting out, surveying, drawings and quality assurance, and able to communicate clearly with the different trades working on site.
A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in civil engineering or a related discipline is required, along with an appropriate CSCS card and full UK driving licence. Water sector experience, SSSTS or SMSTS, First Aid and Temporary Works training would be advantages.
What’s on offer
- Salary of £40,000–£50,000 plus car allowance.
- 26 days’ annual leave, with the option to buy or sell up to three days.
- Private medical insurance and life assurance.
- Pension contributions matched up to 8%.
- Professional membership fees and development opportunities.
- Additional leave linked to long service.
- The chance to work across a substantial programme of Thames Water projects.
The role is subject to BPSS checks.
