Job Overview & Description
Project Manager – Water & Civil Engineering
Location: Worcester or surrounding area, with travel to project sites
Salary: Up to £75,000
Type: Permanent, full time
We’re recruiting a Project Manager to lead civil engineering projects in the Severn Trent Water region. This role needs someone who understands water infrastructure, knows how to manage the commercial and delivery demands of an NEC contract, and can lead a project team from planning through to handover.
The company
Our client is a rapidly growing civil engineering contractor building a strong presence in the water sector. Alongside its water work, it delivers wider infrastructure schemes involving drainage, highways and structures. There’s a busy programme through to Christmas and approximately £30 million of work in the pipeline for 2027, giving the right person the chance to help shape the next stage of growth.
What you’ll be doing
As Project Manager, you’ll take responsibility for safe delivery, programme, cost and client relationships across water related civil engineering schemes. You’ll work closely with Site Agents, engineers, commercial colleagues and subcontractors to:
- Plan projects and coordinate resources from mobilisation to handover.
- Lead site teams and keep safety, quality and programme performance on track.
- Manage project risks, changes and reporting under NEC contracts.
- Work with the commercial team on forecasts, compensation events and project performance.
- Build strong relationships with the client and supply chain.
- Resolve delivery issues early and support the development of your team.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have strong civil engineering experience, proven water sector delivery and working knowledge of NEC contracts. We’re looking for a Project Manager who can lead people as confidently as they manage programmes and commercial risks.
Experience with drainage, pipelines, treatment works or other water infrastructure would be relevant. You’ll need to be comfortable dealing directly with clients and making decisions that keep projects moving. SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid and a full UK driving licence would be expected.
What’s on offer
- Salary up to £75,000.
- 25 days’ holiday.
- Company car or car allowance.
- A growing pipeline of Severn Trent water projects.
- The chance to take real ownership within an expanding business.
If you’re a Project Manager with the civil engineering, water and NEC experience to lead these schemes, apply today or contact J3A Recruitment for a confidential conversation about this Project Manager opportunity.
