Mechanical Draughtsperson – Water & Ventilation Projects

We’re recruiting a Mechanical Draughtsperson to produce drawings and 3D models for specialist ventilation projects. You’ll join an established design team and see your work develop from early project scoping through to installation.

Our client is a growing environmental engineering business specialising in systems that control odours, gases, fumes and other emissions. Much of its work is in the water industry, including projects around Yorkshire Water. It offers the close involvement of a specialist team, with a strong pipeline of work and scope to develop your career.

What you’ll be doing

As a Mechanical Draughtsperson, you’ll work with engineers and project managers to turn technical requirements into accurate, buildable drawings. Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing 3D models, general arrangement drawings and detailed CAD drawings.
• Developing drawings from project specifications and engineering input.
• Supporting design work from initial scoping through to implementation.
• Attending site surveys when required.
• Liaising with engineers, clients and suppliers to resolve drawing queries.
• Delivering accurate work to project timescales and quality standards.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have experience producing detailed mechanical CAD drawings and be comfortable working on complex designs. Good AutoCAD knowledge is important; experience with Solid Edge would be an advantage.

The brief calls for a mechanical or design qualification at HNC level or above, strong attention to detail and a full UK driving licence. You’ll also need to communicate well with the engineers and project teams using your drawings.
