Job Overview & Description
Project Engineer – LEV
Location: Huddersfield, with site travel across Yorkshire
Salary: £45,000 plus car allowance
Type: Permanent, full time
We’re recruiting a Project Engineer – LEV to deliver Local Exhaust Ventilation inspection projects across Yorkshire. You’ll visit sites, assess ventilation systems and turn your findings into clear reports that help clients understand what needs attention.
The company
Our client is a growing environmental engineering business specialising in ventilation systems that control odours, gases, fumes and other emissions. Much of its work is within the water industry, including projects around Yorkshire Water. As its delivery team expands, this is an opportunity to develop a specialist area of expertise and grow with the business.
What you’ll be doing
As a Project Engineer – LEV, you’ll take responsibility for LEV compliance inspection projects, from the initial enquiry through to reporting and final documentation. Your work will include:
- Attending sites across Yorkshire to examine LEV systems.
- Carrying out compliance inspections and recording accurate findings.
- Producing clear technical reports for clients and operational managers.
- Maintaining inspection records, calibration logs and project documentation.
- Identifying faults, root causes and opportunities to improve system performance.
- Liaising with clients and ensuring the right technical information is available throughout each project.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have a mechanical engineering qualification at degree, HND or HNC level and knowledge or experience of ventilation systems, whether gained through design, manufacturing or related engineering work. Strong report writing and the confidence to explain technical findings clearly are essential.
A BOHS P601 or P602 qualification would be a real advantage, but the brief also welcomes engineers with the right mechanical and ventilation background. You’ll need to be organised, comfortable managing site visits and hold a full UK driving licence.
This Project Engineer – LEV position could suit someone already carrying out LEV examinations or a mechanical engineer ready to move into a more specialist role.
What’s on offer
- £45,000 basic salary plus car allowance.
- 25 days’ holiday.
- A 37.5-hour working week.
- Internal and external training, with opportunities to gain further qualifications.
- The chance to develop specialist LEV expertise within a growing business.
- Support from an experienced engineering and delivery team.
If you’re a Project Engineer – LEV looking for your next move, or an engineer with ventilation experience ready to build a career in LEV, apply today or contact J3A Recruitment for a confidential conversation about this Project Engineer – LEV opportunity.
