Job Overview & Description
Project Engineer – Water & Environmental Projects
Location: Dewsbury, with travel to project sites
Salary: £45,000 plus car allowance
Type: Permanent, full time
We’re recruiting a Project Engineer to deliver specialist environmental engineering projects, with a strong focus on the water industry. This could suit an experienced Project Engineer looking for more ownership, or an Engineer who’s ready to take the next step with support from an established team.
The company
Our client is a growing environmental engineering business delivering systems that control odours, gases, fumes and other emissions. Its work includes projects across the water sector, with a strong pipeline around Yorkshire Water. You’ll have access to an in-house design team and the chance to develop as the business takes on more work.
What you’ll be doing
As a Project Engineer, you’ll help take projects from initial enquiry through to final handover. You’ll be involved in both the technical detail and the practical decisions needed to deliver work safely and successfully. Your responsibilities will include:
- Meeting clients, understanding requirements and carrying out site surveys.
- Coordinating operatives, apprentices and subcontractors on project work.
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and schedules before directing delivery.
- Working with the design team to resolve technical issues.
- Monitoring quality, safety, progress and project documentation.
- Supporting tender, design and construction programmes.
- Preparing handover information, including as-built documentation.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have an engineering qualification at degree, HND, HNC or NVQ level, or equivalent experience, together with a full UK driving licence. The brief calls for an electrical engineering background, although your ability to organise work, understand technical information and bring people together to get a project delivered will matter just as much.
If you’re an Engineer with relevant project exposure but haven’t yet held the Project Engineer title, we’d still be keen to speak with you.
What’s on offer
- £45,000 basic salary plus car allowance.
- 25 days’ holiday.
- A 37.5-hour working week.
- Internal and external training, with opportunities to gain further qualifications.
- Support from an experienced delivery team and in-house designers.
- A genuine opportunity to take on more responsibility as the business grows.
If you’re a Project Engineer looking for your next challenge, or an Engineer ready to become one, apply today or contact J3A Recruitment for a confidential conversation about this Project Engineer opportunity.
