Job Overview & Description

Site Agent – Water Infrastructure

Location: North West England
Salary: Up to £65,000, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate
Type: Permanent, full time

We’re recruiting a Site Agent to deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects solely on the United Utilities framework. This is an opportunity to take ownership of substantial schemes across the North West as work on the Better Rivers programme gathers pace.

The company

Our client is a major water infrastructure contractor with operations in the UK and overseas. Its teams bring together civil engineering, design and in-house mechanical and electrical expertise to deliver complex projects, from networks and pipelines to treatment works and pumping stations. The North West framework is expected to generate around £100 million of work over the next 12 months, making this a significant time to join its delivery team.

What you’ll be doing

As a Site Agent, you’ll lead day-to-day delivery on site, working with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and the client team. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Planning and coordinating site activities, labour, plant and materials.
  • Keeping works safe, on programme and to the required quality standards.
  • Managing subcontractors and supporting directly employed teams.
  • Reviewing RAMS, temporary works arrangements and site documentation.
  • Monitoring progress, raising issues early and helping resolve them.
  • Maintaining accurate records and clear communication with stakeholders.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have experience delivering civil engineering works in the water or wastewater sector, ideally within a framework environment. A background in pipelines, networks, pumping stations, treatment works or associated civils would all be relevant.

You’ll be a Site Agent who can lead a site team, make sound decisions and keep a project moving when priorities change. CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid and a full UK driving licence would be expected for this level of role; temporary works experience would be valuable.

What’s on offer

  • Salary up to £65,000, with room to discuss more for an exceptional candidate.
  • Company car or car allowance.
  • Company pension.
  • Major projects concentrated across the North West.
  • The backing of an established international contractor and a substantial programme of secured work.
  • Opportunities to develop as the regional delivery team grows.

If you’re a Site Agent who wants to play a leading part in improving water infrastructure across the North West, apply today or contact J3A Recruitment for a confidential conversation about this Site Agent opportunity.
