How to talk about salary expectations
Know the figure you would accept and the figure that would make the move worthwhile. Include the whole package in your thinking: travel, car, overtime, flexibility, bonus and holiday.
Tell the recruiter where you stand early. You can be open to discussing a package without being vague about your needs.
If the role will cost you two extra hours a day on the road, a small pay rise may not be a rise at all once your time is considered.
